Working Principle of Remote Reading System

In modern society, the remote reading mode of the electric meter is more popular than the traditional one. The traditional manual stopwatch method is not only low efficient but also occurs more missed and missing data. Manual meter reading is also unable to read the meter by time period, while the remote meter reading technology can accurately measure the data in the meter to every hour and every minute, and users can check the hourly electricity consumption on the APP. The remote meter reading technology uses an advanced system architecture so that the system has the functions of remote debugging, remote maintenance, and data interaction with external third-party software.


Working Principle of Remote Reading System:

Remote meter reading is divided into a comprehensive application layer, data management layer, and data acquisition layer. The principle of the data collection layer is to aggregate the data of each meter through the transmission medium (RS-485 interface, power carrier, GPRS, etc.) corresponding to the concentration, and the concentrator automatically reads data information of each meter according to the meter reading task issued by the management center. The concentrator saves the hour, day, and month data of the corresponding meters.


The concentrator is transmitted to the data server through Ethernet or GPRS. The data server is actually our remote meter reading system. The remote meter reading system can perform data processing, classification, screening, etc., and generate daily, monthly and annual reports, which greatly saves the time of manual report making.


The function of the remote reading system:

1. Accuracy. The remote automatic meter reading system ensures the accuracy of the data. The data in the meter directly enters the system through communication, without the error caused by manual meter reading.

2. Save time and labor costs. Workers in the management department don’t need to manually copy one table by one, saving time, effort, and labor.

3. Different kinds of data analysis. The system organizes and analyzes meter data, expense data, user data, and abnormal data, and presents them intuitively in the form of charts so that users can make reasonable judgments based on the results.

4. Automatically generate reports. The system automatically generates data reports such as meter freeze data, expense reports, over-power trip data, and current overload. Users can obtain data reports from multiple dimensions of day, month, and year.

5. User file management. The system will automatically store and manage regional information, owner information, hardware information, charging ways, alarm ways, and user files in the cloud to ensure the data security is not lost.

6. Support payment on multi-platform. The system support collecting electricity bills and data quotes on different platforms. Computers, phone APP, and self-service terminals are available at the same time, and you can freely choose payment and query methods.
