Reasons for Low Photovoltaic Power Generation (2)
For long-running photovoltaic power generation systems, the impact of panel dust on it should not be underestimated. The dust on the surface of the panel has the function of reflecting, scattering, and absorbing solar radiation, which can reduce the transmittance of the sun, causing the solar radiation received by the panel to decrease, and the output power is also reduced. Its effect is proportional to the cumulative thickness of the dust.
A. Dust blocked the components
Dust adheres to the surface of the battery panel, which will block, absorb and reflect light.
The most important thing is the shielding effect on light, which affects the absorption of light by photovoltaic panels, thereby affecting the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation. Dust deposited on the light-receiving surface of the solar panel assembly will first reduce the light transmittance of the solar panel surface; secondly, it will change the incident angle of part of the light, causing the light to spread unevenly in the glass cover. Studies have shown that under the same conditions, the output power of a clean panel assembly is at least 5% higher than that of a dust-deposited assembly, and the higher the dust deposit, the greater the drop in output performance of the assembly.
B. Corrosive dust erodes components
The surface of photovoltaic panels is mostly made of glass. When wet acid or alkaline dust attaches to the surface of the glass cover, the glass surface will be slowly eroded, resulting in the formation of pits and pits on the surface, causing the light to form diffuse reflection on the surface of the cover, destroying the uniform spread in the glass. The rougher the photovoltaic module cover, the smaller the energy of the refracted light, and the energy that reaches the surface of the photovoltaic cell decreases, resulting in a reduction in the power generation of the photovoltaic cell. And rough, sticky surfaces with adhesive residue are more likely to accumulate dust than smoother surfaces. Moreover, the dust itself will absorb dust. Once the initial dust exists, it will cause more dust to accumulate and accelerate the attenuation of photovoltaic cell power generation.
