The prepaid electric energy meter is a basic part of the remote centralized reading system, and it is the executive component of electric energy measurement and remote control of on-off.


The metering module realizes electric energy data acquisition, fault and electricity stealing detection, and can measure AC active energy accumulatively according to peak, valley and normal periods; its measurement performance indicators should meet the requirements, with accurate measurement, stable error and good linearity.


The communication module consists of two parts. One is to realize the transmission and control of the meter data through the low-voltage power line; The infrared communication module is used as an alternate means of communication and is mainly used for on-site transcription. The infrared communication protocol should conform to industry standards.


The main control module realizes power on and off according to the control information sent by the concentrator, and has a manual reset function.


Communication channel


The collection of upper layer data adopts a star structure, that is, a background management system pairs with multiple concentrators. The upper-layer communication system is a 1-to-N connection system formed by connecting the system workstation installed in the power supply enterprise management* with the concentrators scattered in each station area through the communication channel. In this way, the communication data volume of the channel is relatively large, and a certain transmission rate and bandwidth are required. At present, cellular mobile wireless network (GSM) coverage is almost all over the country. Therefore, the existing GSM wireless network can be utilized without rebuilding a new base station when constructing this meter reading system. The meter reading system based on the mobile wireless network must install a wireless communication module in the management device and the collector. Because this wireless communication module is simple in structure and easy to control, the background management system and each collector are equipped with this wireless communication module. The communication between them is to transfer data and issue commands by dialing up or accessing the GSM network in the mode of short message SMS. It is quite convenient to use and maintain the mobile wireless network.


The acquisition of the underlying data adopts low-voltage power communication, which refers to the technology of modulating information into high-frequency signals and superimposing them on the power line for communication. In the same transformer area, a concentrator collects data from several collectors or energy meters to form a Power line-based communication network. Its advantages are:


(1) The power line is a communication channel controlled by the power sector, and there is no need to lay additional communication channels.


(2) The power line is the infrastructure of all houses and buildings, and using the power line as a communication channel can greatly save the investment in laying communication channels.


(3) Almost no maintenance or maintenance is required.


(4) Plug and play can be flexibly realized by using the power line as the communication channel. Therefore, the communication adopted by the underlying data has low operating cost, good security, and strong maintainability.
