1. Cast iron water meter case

Cast iron water meter case is cheap, high strength and toughness, but whether it is made of gray cast iron or ductile iron, its forming and processing technology is relatively cumbersome, and there is secondary pollution due to corrosion and rust. Therefore, the mandatory water meter safety rules required last year (2010) to phase out grey cast iron casing water meters. It is only recommended that the case of the large-diameter water meter be made of ductile iron.

2. Cast copper water meter case

The main advantages of cast copper water meter case are good mechanical properties and simple manufacturing process. The cast lead brass case is formed in the same way as the cast iron case. But there is a risk of theft when installed outdoors. Moreover, the lead in the cast copper case is easily precipitated, which leads to heavy metal pollution of drinking water.

3. Aluminum alloy water meter case

The aluminum alloy water meter case adopts the die-casting process, with obvious molding characteristics, beautiful appearance, rich raw materials, low production cost and good mechanical properties. However, the hardened layer is easily peeled off or damaged by external force, resulting in metal precipitation. In addition, the exposed aluminum alloy is easily corroded to produce white aluminum rust, which affects the quality of the product.

4. Engineering plastic water meter case

Although the engineering plastic water meter case generally has problems such as low mechanical strength, poor rigidity, easy aging, cold brittleness and creep, but its product cost is low, easy to manufacture, non-toxic, non-polluting, corrosion-resistant, non-rusting, non-binding Scale, light weight, hygienic and environmentally friendly.

5. Stainless Steel Water Meter Case

The stainless-steel water meter case has good mechanical properties and is resistant to acid and alkali; no corrosion and exudate are produced in high and low temperature environments, no secondary pollution, and it is hygienic and environmentally friendly. Stainless steel water meter case can be divided into casting parts and welded parts. Castings have the disadvantages of difficult processing and high manufacturing cost, so mass production capacity has not yet been formed.
