Main Equipment Of Photovoltaic Off-Grid System
The photovoltaic off-grid system consists of solar modules, solar controllers, batteries (groups), and off-grid inverters. It is suitable for areas without grid-connected or unstable grid-connected power. Photovoltaic off-grid systems are self-contained solutions that can be installed in most places and are easy to maintain, reliable, clean, and inexpensive.
The main equipment of a photovoltaic off-grid system is as follows:
1. Solar photovoltaic modules.
Converting solar energy into electrical energy, or sending it to storage batteries, is an important part of the solar power generation system. Irradiation characteristics and temperature characteristics are the two major factors that affect the performance of components.
2. Off-grid inverters.
The electrical energy converted by solar photovoltaic modules is direct current, and our daily loads use alternating current. An inverter is a device that converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) and consists of an inverter bridge, control logic, and filter circuits.
3. Solar controller.
The biggest use of the solar controller is to protect the battery, then anti-recoil protection, short circuit protection, overcharge and over-discharge protection, etc. In addition to this, it has power regulation and communication functions. Solar controllers are divided into PMW type and MPPT type.
4. Battery.
The battery is the energy storage device of the photovoltaic off-grid system. Its function is to store the electric energy converted by the solar module and supply power to the load during the electricity consumption period.
5. Other equipment, such as photovoltaic brackets, distribution boxes, cables, etc.
