What Are The Introduction And Classification Of Smart Energy Meters?

Introduction:

Smart meter is one of the basic devices for data collection in smart grid (especially smart distribution network), and it undertakes the tasks of data acquisition, measurement and transmission of raw electric energy. This is the basis for information integration, analysis optimization and information presentation. In addition to the basic electricity metering function of traditional energy meters, smart meters also have two-way multi-rate metering functions, user-side control functions, and two-way data transmission modes in order to adapt to the use of smart grids and new energy source, it also has two-way multi-rate metering function, user-end control function, two-way data communication function with multiple data transmission modes, and other intelligent functions.

The advanced measurement system, automatic meter reading, and system built based on smart meters can provide users with more detailed electricity consumption information, so that users can better manage their electricity consumption, so as to reach the goals of saving electricity bills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Electricity retailers can flexibly formulate time-of-use electricity prices according to the needs of users and promote the reform of the electricity market price system. Power distribution companies can detect faults more quickly and respond in a timely manner to enhance power network control and management.

Classification:

Smart meters can be roughly divided into two categories: electromechanical integrated and fully electronic.

Mechatronics

Mechatronics, that is, adding certain parts to the original mechanical watt-hour meter so that it can not only complete the required functions, but also reduce the cost and be easy to install. Generally speaking, its design plan is to install a sensor device to become a smart meter with electrical pulse output as well as mechanical measurement without destroying the original physical structure of the current meter and without changing its national measurement standard. Synchronize electronic counting with mechanical counting, and its measurement accuracy is generally not lower than that of mechanical metering meters. This design scheme adopts the mature technology of the original induction watch, and is mostly used for the transformation of old watches.

Fully electronic

The all-electronic type uses electronic devices with integrated circuits as the core from metering to data processing, thereby eliminating the long-term mechanical components used on the meter. Compared with the mechatronics meter, the volume of the meter is reduced. Reliability is increased, more precise, power consumption is reduced, and production processes are greatly improved. It is not necessary to replace the meter with mechanical parts only in the original sense of the advantages of watt-hour meter factory production.
