How To Increase The Service Life of Remote Prepaid Electricity Meters?

The remote prepaid electricity meter is welcomed by the market because it has the function of first paying the electricity and then using the electricity, and the mobile phone can remotely check the remaining electricity bill and pay the bill in time. When designing and producing remote prepaid electricity meters, electricity meter manufacturers will ensure that the service life of electricity meters will reach 10-15 years under normal conditions of use. However, in the actual operation process, the service life of the meter will be shortened due to various reasons of improper operation by the user. In order to make the service life of the remote prepaid electricity meter reach the normal service life, users need to pay attention to the following aspects:

The first is the electrical load. Electrical load refers to the power consumed by all electrical equipment connected to the power system, and the size of the load corresponds to the corresponding current. If the capacity of the electric meter is too small and too many electrical devices are used and the capacity is too large, the current coil of the remote prepaid electric meter will be overloaded and heated for a long time and the electric energy meter will be damaged. Therefore, when purchasing an electric meter, it is necessary to consider the short-term and long-term development of electricity consumption. The electricity consumption is calculated by the sum of the maximum power of the appliances that are most likely to be used at the same time, and then the appropriate current specification is selected.

Then there are corrosive substances. The remote prepaid electricity meter must avoid contact with corrosive substances, because such substances are fatal to the precision instruments of the meter, which will not only affect the lifespan, but also affect the measurement accuracy. In addition, strong collisions and impacts can also cause damage to prepaid electricity meters.

The last is the installation environment. In the instruction manual, it will be written that the working environment temperature of the electric meter is preferably -25 ℃ ~ 60 ℃, and the annual average humidity does not exceed 80%. There may be slight differences between different brands of meters. Therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation of the electric meter, it is necessary to take anti-freezing measures in areas with low temperature in winter, and also pay attention to cover the moisture-proof cover.

In general, pay attention to the above three aspects. Without the influence of other factors such as intentional damage and natural disasters, the service life of remote prepaid electricity meters can basically reach 10-15 years. In addition, if it is an electricity customer who belongs to the power supply department and reads the meter to the household, and finds that the household meter is damaged, notify the power supply department to deal with it in time, replace the meter, and do not handle it by yourself. Because if the meter is damaged due to the user's responsibility, the cost of replacing the new meter shall be borne by the user.
