When choosing a smart power meter, the user must choose the appropriate current specification, because the current size not only affects the accuracy of the meter but also when the current value used by the electrical appliance is higher than the rated maximum current value of the meter itself for a long time, it is easy to burn out the meter. Therefore, when choosing an electric meter, on the one hand, it should be noted that the minimum load current cannot be lower than the starting current. On the other hand, the current value for long-term use cannot be higher than the maximum rated current. For example, the current of the meter is 10(20)A, and 10A is the basic current of the meter. When using electrical appliances, the sum of their starting currents cannot be less than 10A. 20A is the maximum rated current, and the current that the meter can carry at the same time cannot exceed 20A. Therefore, when choosing the electric specification of the electric meter, the power of the electric appliance should be considered, and a margin should be reserved for the electric appliance that may be added later. The following will give you a detailed calculation on how to choose the correct current specification.
First, let's talk about the selection of single-phase power meter current, which is commonly used by ordinary residents. The current of 1.5(6)A and 2.5(10)A can carry low-power electrical appliances. For example, lamps and TVs are suitable for power below 1300W and 2200W respectively. 5(20)A can bring 1 air conditioner and 1 induction cooker, as well as daily lighting, suitable for power below 4000W. 10(40)A can bring 2 air conditioners and 1 induction cooker, as well as daily lighting, suitable for power below 8000W. 20(80)A can bring 4 air conditioners and 1 induction cooker, as well as daily lighting, suitable for power below 17000W. 30(100)A can bring 5 air conditioners and 1 induction cooker, as well as daily lighting, suitable for power below 22000W.
Then there is the selection of the three-phase meter current. 1.5(6)A is suitable for mutual inductance type, how big the current is, how much current transformer is equipped, and the applicable power is 3*220*V current transformer current. 5(20)A, 10(40)A, 15(60)A, 20(80)A, 30(100)A are suitable for direct type, and the power requirements are below 1300W, 26000W, 39000W, 52000W, and 66000W respectively. It should be noted that the load motor, current power or current needs to be amplified by 3-4 times, otherwise the current overload will easily burn out the meter.
The power corresponding to various currents is briefly introduced here. Before selecting the smart electric energy current specification, be sure to estimate the maximum power of all appliances used at the same time. Then select the corresponding current according to the parameters provided above. Although it is necessary to leave a margin, it is not that the larger the multiple, the better, it should be reasonable and appropriate.
