Can't Tell the Difference Between Air Switch and Leakage Switch? The Following Will Let You Understand
The Difference Between Air Switch and Leakage Switch
1. What is an air switch:
The air switch is an on-off switch that controls the electrical circuit. If air is used as the arc extinguishing medium, it is called an air switch. Generally, the rated current (load) is selected and used as the main switch of the electrical circuit.
The air switch itself has three functions: on-off of the control circuit, overload protection, and short-circuit protection (overload in the line, trip after short-circuit fault).
The main function is to prevent the circuit from being overloaded, so it only acts as a fuse. The air switch usually only protects the current of the large circuit, and mainly detects the short circuit in the circuit and the overload current.
2. What is the leakage switch?
The leakage switch is also called the leakage protector, which has one more test button than the air switch.
Among them, the T-word test button is used by the owner to check whether the leakage protection function is normal. If it trips normally after pressing it, it means that it is normal. Generally, the leakage protection switch requires the owner to test the leakage protection status every month.
3. Contrast
The leakage protector can also be called a leakage switch. Its function is to protect the contact of dangerous persons when the circuit equipment has leakage. In addition to protecting personal safety, the leakage switch also has the function of short circuit protection, which can protect the short circuit of the motor wire.
The air switch is a circuit breaker, so it can also be called an air circuit breaker. The working principle of the air switch is very simple. When the current in the circuit exceeds the rated value, the air switch will automatically cut off the switch, so as to achieve the purpose of protecting personnel safety.
Some friends will feel that the functions of the air switch and the leakage protector are similar, can they be used interchangeably? This is not the case. Although the leakage protector has one more protection function than the air switch, we cannot use the leakage protector to replace the air switch. Because the tripping function of the air switch is very important in industrial production (on-off of the control circuit, overload protection, short-circuit protection), this is a leakage protector that cannot be solved.
Remarks: The air switch, as the main switch of the home circuit, does not have the function of leakage protection.
The shunt socket circuit must be equipped with a corresponding leakage protection switch.
