Why We Suggest Unplugging the Appliance After Use?

When we are looking at smart meters, like single-phase Wi-Fi energy meters, Wi-Fi wall-mounted energy meters, three-phase Lora WAN electric meters, etc., the most conspicuous thing is the red light that keeps flashing. This red light is a pulse light, similar to the dial of an old electric meter.

When the pulse light flashes, it means that the line is under load, that is, there is current passing through to indicate that the home is using electricity. The faster the blinking, the more power is used.

You may ask why the pulse light still flashes when there is no power used by your home device? That is because the smart meter is much more sensitive than the previous mechanical or electronic non-smart meters and can accurately calculate the amount of standby energy consumption of your device, and the pulse light will also flash continuously.

Therefore, unplug the electrical appliance in time after use, which can not only reduce the waste of electric energy caused by standby energy consumption but also avoid the property loss caused by the accidental short circuit.
