Why Are Electromagnetic Water Meters More Expensive Than Electromagnetic Flow Meters?

What Is the Difference Between Their Principles?

Electromagnetic water meter is an emerging smart water meter in recent years, developed from the technical center of electromagnetic flowmeter, but the electromagnetic water meter has lower power consumption requirements and a wider measurement range. Compared with the traditional mechanical water meter, it has the advantages of high accuracy, small pressure loss, wide range, etc., and because there are no mechanical moving parts inside, the service life is longer.

Electromagnetic water meters are mainly used for the measurement of water volume in the tap water supply network. The working environment is relatively harsh, usually in damp and dark places.

At the same time, the electromagnetic water meter cannot obtain the working power from the mains network as easily as the electromagnetic flowmeter and is usually powered by batteries. Because the electromagnetic water meter requires a large power consumption for magnetic field excitation, and the battery power supply severely limits the use of the water meter, the technical research on induction and transmission is more difficult than that of the flow meter.
