What Parameters Should the Remote Smart Water Meter Depend On?
The promotion and popularization of domestic water price ladders, the target of 10% leakage rate of the pipeline network, and the mature deployment of IoT technologies such as NB-IoT have made remote smart water meters enter a stage of rapid development. In 2020, the number of smart water meters installed in my country exceeded 30 million, and the smart water meter market continued to grow. Smart water meters are favored by more and more users, so what are the important parameters that need to be paid attention to when purchasing a remote smart water meter?
1. Flow rate: refers to the volume of fluid flowing through a certain part of the pipe in a unit time of the water meter
The first is the starting flow, the minimum flow that makes the meter rotate slowly and continuously. Simply put, when the volume of water flowing in the water pipe reaches the minimum value of measurement, the water meter will start to rotate and measure. It is often said that the faucet is opened to the minimum, so that the faucet drips, that is, the water meter will not rotate and measure if the initial flow does not reach the minimum value. Then there is the usual flow at rated operation. Overload flow and minimum flow to meet maximum allowable error requirements. And the boundary flow of the "high zone" and "low zone" of the allowable error.
2. Diameter: the diameter of the water inlet or outlet of the water meter, in mm
The caliber is a necessary technical parameter for the installation of the water meter on the pipeline. Small diameters are generally threaded interfaces, and large diameters are generally flanged connections. Different calibers are applicable to different scenarios. Small calibers DN15-DN25 are suitable for residential user meters, large-caliber DN32-DN40 are suitable for building meters, and large-caliber DN50-DN500 are suitable for industrial meters.
3. Material: generally divided into four types: copper, iron, plastic and stainless steel
The material of the smart water meter is related to the price and the usage environment. Small-diameter water meters in my country are mainly made of copper, large-diameter water meters are mainly made of ductile iron, plastic materials are currently used in Shanghai, and stainless steel is mostly used for small-diameter drinking water meters or large-diameter ultrasonic water meters.
