Ultrasonic Water Meter Installation Precautions

The application of ultrasonic water meters is becoming more and more extensive, and its installation, use and maintenance are also places that everyone needs to pay attention to. Let us understand the installation requirements of ultrasonic water meters and its installation location.

When installing the ultrasonic water meter, the flow direction, installation location and pipeline conditions need to be considered, as follows:

1. First of all, we must first judge whether it is a one-way flow or a two-way flow. Generally, it is unidirectional flow, but we can also make bidirectional flow through more complex electronic circuits and its design. At this time, the length of the straight pipe sections on both sides of the flow measurement point should be arranged according to the requirements of the upstream straight pipe section.

2. Furthermore, the installation position and flow direction of the water meter. The flow sensing part of the ultrasonic water meter can usually be installed in horizontal, inclined or vertical pipes. It is best to choose a place where the vertical pipeline flows from the bottom to the top. If it is from the top to the bottom, there should be sufficient back pressure downstream. For example, there are subsequent pipes higher than the measurement point to prevent partial pipe flow at the measurement point.

3. Pipeline condition. Deposits on the inner surface of ultrasonic water meter pipes can cause poor sound transmission and deviations from the intended channel path and length and should be avoided. In addition, the outer surface is less affected due to ease of handling. The contact surface of the transducer and the pipe should be coated with couplant, and attention should be paid to the pipe of granular structure material, it is likely that the sound wave will be dispersed, and most of the sound wave will not be transmitted to the fluid and reduce the performance. There should be no gap between the pipe lining or corrosion layer and the pipe wall where the transducer is installed. For the pipeline problem, another point to pay attention to is the parameters of the pipeline. It is necessary to know the parameters of the pipeline accurately, such as the outer diameter, inner diameter and thick wall of the pipeline, etc., in order to obtain the highest accuracy.

4. Ultrasonic water meter installation environment selection. It should be installed in a place that is easy to disassemble and maintain. There should be no strong vibration at the installation site, and the ambient temperature does not change much. Keep away from equipment with strong electromagnetic fields, such as large motors, large transformers, etc.

To sum up, the installation of ultrasonic water meters must meet the installation requirements of ultrasonic water meters, so as not to add more after-sales problems after installation. (Reprinted information is for reference only)
