The Meaning of The Four Main Parameters of The Smart Electric Meter
For single-phase or three-phase smart meters, we often read the below parameters on the electric meter manual:
5(60)A, 220V, 50Hz, 1200 imp/kWh.
What are they meaning?
5A is the reference current and 60A is the maximum current allowed to pass. Currents between 5 and 60A are allowed for smart meters. Therefore, there is no such thing as a small meter or a large meter.
220V and 50 Hz: It is rated Voltage and frequency stipulated by the government.
1200 imp/kWh: This indicates that the customer consumes 1 kWh of electricity, and the pulse light flashes 1200 times. So, if any energy meter with 1600 imp/kWh, it means the light flashes 1600 times for every 1 kWh/ of consumption. But the measurement principle and accuracy are the same.
