Several Forms and Precautions of Photovoltaic Power Generation Guarantee (1)

The power generation guarantee of photovoltaic power plants is a common problem encountered by EPC builders and agency operation and maintenance service providers. There are many factors affecting power generation, such as project site selection, equipment selection, design and construction, and operation and maintenance management. The guarantor generally refers to the owner, and the guaranteed party generally includes the component supplier, the EPC party, and the power station agent operation and maintenance party.

At the module level, the owner considers the product quality, power generation efficiency, and power attenuation of the modules, including the maximum output capacity of the modules without external occlusion and dust. At the EPC level, the owner mainly considers the design and construction quality of the power station and the system efficiency after grid connection. At the power station operation and maintenance level, the owner mainly considers the power or equivalent utilization hours of the power station, system efficiency, etc.

The power generation guarantee of a photovoltaic power station is in the form of power generation or equivalent utilization hours, system efficiency guarantee, etc.:

① Power generation guarantee: Generally, it is the owner's requirement for the agency operation and maintenance service provider, and the power of the gateway meter of the photovoltaic power station shall prevail. Electricity is the product of the equivalent utilization hours of the photovoltaic power station and the actual grid-connected capacity of the power station.

② Equivalent utilization hours guarantee: Generally, it is the owner’s requirement for the agency operation and maintenance service provider. For ground power stations, the equivalent utilization hours are the ratio of the PV power station’s in-station gateway meter electricity to the grid-connected capacity in the first year. For distributed self-generated and self-consumption surplus electricity on-grid, the number of hours is the ratio of the electricity at the photovoltaic power generation meter (including enterprise consumption and surplus electricity on-grid) to the grid-connected capacity.

③ System efficiency guarantee: Generally, it is the requirement of the owner to the EPC builder. If it is an agency operation and maintenance service provider, the owner requires a guarantee for the operating system efficiency of the photovoltaic power station for a complete year, that is, the ratio of the annual photovoltaic power station's gateway meter power to the theoretical power generation. The theoretical power generation is the product of the grid-connected capacity of the photovoltaic power station and the equivalent peak sunshine hours of the annual slope radiation.
