Introduction and Components of Smart Water Meters
Introduce
Smart water meter is a new type of water meter that uses modern microelectronic technology, modern sensing technology and smart IC card technology to measure water consumption, transmit water data and settle transactions. Compared with traditional water meters, which generally only have the functions of flow collection and mechanical pointer to display water consumption, it is a great improvement.
In addition to recording and electronically displaying water consumption, smart water meters can also control water consumption as agreed. And it can automatically complete the calculation of the water price of the stepped water price and can store the water data at the same time.

Component:
1. Sending base table
The transmitter base meter is to install the transmitter device in the ordinary mechanical water meter to provide the metering signal to the electronic main control circuit of the water meter to realize the automatic metering of water. The signaling device of the water meter is composed of a small magnetic steel and a magnetic sensitive element in a certain positional relationship. When a unit of measurement (usually 0.01m3 or 0.1m3) flows through, the magneto-sensitive element sends a pulse signal to the main control circuit for counting. Commonly used magneto-sensitive elements are reed switches and Hall elements. Reed switches have obvious advantages in battery-powered micro-power smart water meters due to their zero-power consumption performance in static state, and the working life of high-quality reed switches of more than 1 million times can fully meet the service life of the water meter. The power consumption of Hall elements is generally at the mA level, although new products with micro-power consumption have also appeared.
2. Control valve
The smart water meter switches and controls the water inlet valve of the water meter through the main control circuit, so as to achieve the purpose of controlling the user's water consumption. Therefore, reliability should be the design point of the valve. In the early stage of smart water meter design, it should be said that solenoid valve is a common choice because of its simple structure and low power consumption. But after trial and error, its shortcomings are inevitably exposed. Briefly, first of all, the shock resistance of the solenoid valve is poor, which is also the most fatal weakness. Secondly, the plastic parts in the solenoid valve are easily deformed and corroded in the long-term water immersion environment, thus affecting the switching performance of the valve. As a result, the design trend of electric valves came into being. Although, compared with the solenoid valve, its structure is more complicated and the power consumption is also larger. However, under the premise of reliability, the electric valve should have more application prospects. Although, the structure needs to be further adjusted. Bistable electric valve is a design idea. This kind of valve is designed to use electromagnetic conduction to drive electric valve to achieve the purpose of reducing energy consumption.
