How To Wire Smart Meter and Transformer?

The first thing to remember is that the voltage transformer is connected to the power supply. Current transformers do not require a power supply.

Connect the S1 and S2 terminals of the current transformer to the I1 and I2 terminals of the ammeter on the power distribution cabinet. S2 is also grounded. Prevent electric shock accidents caused by high electromotive force after circuit breaker.

The three-phase four-wire watt-hour meter connected by the current transformer, the voltage line and the current line has a common connection method, which is quite rare in the agricultural electricity measurement. This method eliminates the three voltage leads and connects the current transformer K1 to the power supply L1. Connect the voltage pile head of the meter to the current pile head through the current secondary line. This connection method is designed to reduce the number of secondary wiring roots.

However, this approach is very dangerous:

First of all, the secondary circuit of the current transformer should not be grounded, otherwise it will cause a short circuit and burn the watt-hour meter. However, the specification states that the secondary circuit of the transformer must be at least partially grounded.

Secondly, since the voltage and current terminals of the instrument and the secondary circuit of the transformer all carry a voltage of 380/220 volts, be careful not to accidentally touch them when working with electricity. Third, the neutral line connecting the watt-hour meter should not be mistaken or interchanged with other lines. Otherwise, the current coil of the watt-hour meter will be burned out due to a short circuit, and the current transformer will be easily opened due to the connection between the secondary circuit and the voltage coil of the watt-hour meter, resulting in an infinite increase in circuit impedance.
