How Internet of Things Wireless Power Meters Can Realize Data Transmission Over Long Distances

Now smart meters can transmit data without connecting network cables, mainly relying on concentrators or collectors. The following is an introduction to how the data of the power meter is transmitted to the collector and concentrator:

One is power line carrier transmission.

This kind of data is transmitted by wires. Generally, it can only be used in the loop of the same transformer to transmit to the terminal, and then the terminal sends it wirelessly to the power metering system of the electric power bureau. Although this kind of carrier method is more troublesome to wire, it is more stable, and there will be more meters connected to the concentrator. In this way, there is a module at the lower port of the meter, that is, the power carrier module. After the data processing in the circuit is completed, it is transmitted to the power carrier module. After the data is processed by the module, it is transmitted to the terminal, and finally transmitted to the power terminal or the power metering department by means of a wireless transmitter. This method is also very common now.

The other is wireless 485 transmission.

This transmission method relies on GPRS or CDMA network. This type of transmission does not require wire transmission and is wireless transmission. This is more convenient than carrier transmission and requires no connection. But sometimes there may be a situation where the signal is unstable, after all, it is wireless. Moreover, a concentrator may support more than 20 meters, and the carrier can support more than 60 meters, so when choosing the transmission method of the meters, you should combine your own project's own situation. If there are many meters, you can choose the carrier type, which is more stable and has fewer concentrators, which saves costs. If there are few meters, you can choose wireless 485 transmission.

The electricity meter transmits data to the collector through the RS-485 interface or carrier wave, and then automatically reads the data information from each meter through the concentrator according to the meter reading task of the management center, and saves the hourly, daily and monthly data information. The data is uniformly handed over to the management center for centralized processing. To achieve these functions as long as equipped with concentrators and collectors. Therefore, in order to achieve remote networking, in addition to the electricity meter, a meter reading system is also required. The LINSHU remote prepaid meter reading system has strong configuration capabilities, and the cloud automatic configuration eliminates the cost of on-site debugging. The system is easy to operate, and the team can also come to provide you with professional software training services if necessary.
