How Are Smart Water Meters Installed and Designed?

Install:


1. Select the correct caliber of the smart water meter.


2. Install it horizontally, with the surface facing up, and the direction of the arrow on the case is the same as the direction of the water flow. The installation location should avoid exposure to sunlight, flooding, freezing and pollution to facilitate disassembly and meter reading. For newly installed pipelines, be sure to rinse the sand, gravel, hemp and other debris in the pipeline before installing the water meter to avoid water meter failure.


3. Valves should be installed upstream and downstream of the smart water meter, and all of them should be opened when in use.


4. The necessary straight pipe section or its equivalent rectifier should be installed upstream and downstream of the water meter. The length of the upstream straight pipe section is required to be no less than 10D, and the length of the downstream straight pipe section is no less than 5D (D is the nominal diameter of the water meter). For the eddy current phenomenon caused by elbow or centrifugal pump, a rectifier must be installed before the straight pipe section;


5. When installing the water meter, it should be noted that the water outlet of the downstream pipeline of the water meter is more than 0.5m higher than the water meter, so that the waterproof meter will cause incorrect measurement due to insufficient water flow in the pipeline;


6. The water meter has excellent anti-blocking performance, but it is sensitive to sediment and weeds in the pipeline, so it should be avoided as much as possible during use. If there is sediment and weeds in the pipeline, it should be cleaned up in time, otherwise it will affect the normal measurement of the water meter.


Design concept:


Smart water meters have fundamentally changed the traditional meter reading method and implemented the charging mode of purchasing water by card. Based on saving a lot of manpower, it also solves the problem of water arrears that has plagued the water supply industry for a long time, so it will directly bring huge economic benefits to the water supply industry. Therefore, its practicability is being increasingly optimistic. And how to optimize the design of the water meter in terms of technology, function and price will be the key to the problem.
