Electronic Belt Scale Application Overview

This paper introduces the application occasion, structure, working mode, control function and design selection of batching electronic belt scale


Electronic belt scales only measure the flow of materials, and batching electronic belt scales are different. On the one hand, it measures the flow of materials, and on the other hand, it transports materials from the storage bin at a preset flow rate. Foreign manufacturers call the batching belt scale as WEIGH FEEDER, WEIGH BELT FEEDER, and CONSTANTFEEDWEIGHER.


In addition to the use of pre-set flow as quantitative feeding, the batching belt scale can also be used in the following occasions:


Control multiple batching belt scales to achieve a constant flow of mixed batching ingredients. Among them, a constant weight batching ratio is maintained among various materials, and the total flow rate of the mixed batching flow remains stable.


Control multiple batching belt scales to complete fluctuating mixed batching flow. One of the materials is the main material, which is measured by the belt scale. The instantaneous flow signal of the belt scale is used as the flow setting value of the other one or more auxiliary material batching belt scales. Therefore, a constant weight batching ratio is maintained between the main material and the auxiliary material, but the total weight of the mixed batching flow varies with the fluctuation of the main material. That is to say, the amount of main material is not quantitatively adjusted, but may change with the change of process conditions. The flow setting value of the auxiliary material batching belt scale is changed due to the change of the instantaneous flow signal of the main material belt scale. Therefore, the flow of auxiliary materials changes with the change, and the total flow of the mixed batching flow also changes with the change.


Batching belt scales used on equipment such as abrasive mills (such as ball mills, rod mills, autogenous mills, etc.). In order to pursue the optimization of the process, the flow setting value of the material batching belt scale often changes according to the changes of some detection parameters of the process. Such as the grinding sound sensor of the ball mill (the size of the grinding sound indirectly reflects the amount of material in the ball mill, the sound of grinding, the amount of material in the ball mill is small, and vice versa, the amount of material in the ball mill is large), the amount of coarse material returned to the ball mill and other parameters.


The constant speed belt scale refers to the batching belt scale with the speed regulation of the feeder and the constant speed of the belt conveyor. The speed regulation of the feeder can complete the adjustment task of the amount of material, while the speed of the belt conveyor is not adjustable, the material load on the belt changes with the amount of material. The early batching belt scales used this method more, and the earliest method of moving the feeding gate up and down can also be classified into this category. At this time, the method of moving the feeding gate up and down replaced the speed regulation of the feeder.


The double-speed belt scale refers to the batching belt scale in which the feeder and the belt conveyor are both speed-regulated. The speed regulation of the feeder is to change the amount of material feeding, and the speed regulation of the belt conveyor is to keep the material load on the belt always stable. There are two ways of double speed regulation: one is the synchronous speed regulation of the feeder and the belt conveyor, that is, a mechanical method is used to drive the feeder and the belt conveyor synchronously by a speed regulating motor. Second, the feeder and the belt conveyor are respectively regulated by two speed regulating motors. The synchronous speed regulation method has more mechanical devices, but saves a speed regulation motor, which saves investment in general. The two speed regulating motors have one more speed regulating motor. Although the investment has increased a little, the adjustment is more flexible, and the change range of the material quantity setting is wider.


As mentioned above, there are three working modes of the batching electronic belt scale: constant speed belt scale, dragging belt scale, and double-speed adjustable belt scale. The constant-speed belt scale system has a relatively simple structure and is suitable for batching belt scales with a small change range of flow setting value. The towing belt scale has no feeder, the system has the simplest structure, and the equipment investment is the most economical, but there is no special feeder buffer between the belt conveyor of the batching belt scale and the storage bin, and operations such as zero adjustment of the belt scale and belt replacement are not available. It is difficult to complete, and it is only suitable for materials with good flow properties, moderate humidity, and suitable for feeding by belt feeders. The material load on the belt of the double-speed adjustable belt scale does not change with the amount of material, which is beneficial to the improvement of the weighing accuracy of the material. There is a feeder between the storage bin and the batching belt scale, which is convenient for the zero adjustment of the belt scale and the replacement of the belt. However, the system structure is more complicated, there are two equipment’s that need speed regulation, and the investment is the highest.
