Difference Between Solar Inverter and Charge Controller

The main function of a solar inverter is to convert direct current (battery, DC power, etc.) to alternating current. Solar controllers are mainly used for photovoltaic modules to charge batteries. It can stabilize the voltage during the charging and discharging process to avoid device damage caused by overcharging. In addition, the solar controller also has boost, short circuit protection, load protection, and coordination of the work between solar panels, lithium batteries, and loads. Therefore, the full name of the controller is also called the solar charge and discharge controller, which is divided into MPPT solar controller and PWM solar controller.
