Can Inverter Work Without Battery?
The inverter can also be used without a battery. The photovoltaic grid-connected system does not need a battery during operation, and the photovoltaic off-grid system generally needs to be equipped with a battery. Our photovoltaic direct-connected off-grid inverters can work normally without batteries, and the photovoltaic system will automatically start and work in the photovoltaic state or the mains state.
In a grid-connected system:
The grid-connected system is connected to the mains through a grid-connected inverter. Grid-tied inverters enable bidirectional power transfer between grid-tied solar systems and the grid. When the electricity generated by the photovoltaic panels exceeds the household demand, the system will output the excess electricity to the mains through the inverter, and the excess electricity will not be wasted. When the photovoltaic panels cannot generate enough power, the system can input power from the grid to supply power to the load, and at the same time play a role in voltage regulation. The whole process can be done without batteries.
In an off-grid system:
Off-grid systems are not connected to the grid and are usually used in remote areas with no or little electricity. They are often equipped with batteries to store electrical energy and inverters to output AC power for use at night without sunlight and on rainy days. Of course, it is also possible to connect the photovoltaic panels and inverters without batteries, but this means that you can only use the power output from the off-grid system when there is sufficient sunlight.
It is worth noting that many off-grid inverters on the market cannot be used without a battery. When you want to buy an off-grid inverter for an off-grid system without a battery, you must know whether the off-grid inverter can work normally without the battery.
