1. Compared with foreign 5G base stations, what is the radiation level of our 5G base stations?
In terms of standards, the technical standards for electromagnetic radiation in the United States and Japan are both 600 microwatts/square centimeter, the EU is 450 microwatts/square centimeter, and China is 40 microwatts/square centimeter.
From the communication principle, the mobile phone and the base station are a two-way communication system. If the radiation level of the base station is excessively limited, the signal coverage of the mobile communication network will be poor, and instead, the mobile phone always needs to increase the transmit power to ensure communication with the base station during communication. The distance between mobile phones and people is much closer than that of base stations, so the radiation level of mobile phones to the human body is greatly increased.
2. To achieve the same coverage as 4G, do more 5G base stations need to be built? So will the radiation be bigger because of this?
The construction of base stations in mobile communication networks is a process of continuous development and improvement according to business applications and the number of users. Compared with 3G and 4G networks, the number of base stations in 5G networks may be more than 3G or 4G in the future. The reason is that 5G base stations use higher radio frequencies and faster signal attenuation. To achieve the same signal coverage effect, more base stations need to be built.
